Framly - Annoying Marketing

After being a loyal Sprint Friend & Family subscriber for nearly 10 years, I have to depart (slowly) from the FRAMLY. With a huge dependency upon ones cell phone number, it is difficult to cut all the tethers at once. Being a brand loyalist at heart, this was a stressful decision and started with an honest evaluation of my plan's monthly price increases with the Sprint Store representative.

I pulled one of my phones out of Sprint, formerly "truly unlimited data" and joined the pay-as-you-go Tracfone ™. The jury is still out on the savings, but I expect to save more than $40 a month after your take out all the outrageous Kansas state, county and local taxes.

The little LG Android is great. It is plenty of smartphone when I keep it on the WiFi and away from the hunger of online data network.

There is a huge product market confusion with all the mix-and-match of plans, phones, usage, activation days, etc. Eventually, shopped eBay and got the LG Android that gets triple minutes with every purchase. For my needs, purchased the monthly plan (not exactly pay-as-you-go) and the 60 minutes triples while preserving my cell number by automatically remaining active.

Stay tuned . . .

  1. Crossed my first month's usage. So far, "no surprises."
