BlackBerry on life-support: Ailing phone firm loses $4.4B in Q3
Sad story about a pioneering company, in so many different ways.
I always thought that RIM and Garmin should have merged when Garmin was developing the Nuviphone on Qt4 platform. RIM needed engineering growth to develop the next generation location based services and Garmin needed a platform to grow their commoditized GPS and mapping expertise.
The two cultures overlapped in so many ways at a time when Google and Samsung began their frontal assault on Apple and RIM domination.
With mobile-digital technology's daily changes, it poses a challenge to follow, comprehend and predict. This community blog is a chance to gather thoughts and share perspectives based upon experience as a technologist, a consumer or a skeptic.
